Why surgeons turn down men under age 30 to have Hair Transplantation?

Young men are more prone to have a hair transplant surgery to save from being noticed with their bald patches, which is a fair point but surgeons often turn down young patients, say below 30s. this is because of the factor of unstable hair loss patterns.
The fact is that hair restoration isn't a miracle, but a magical of scientific genius that identifies the fact that common baldness, which is usually male pattern baldness sees bald patches typically in the front and center of the scalp, while the hair at the back of the scalp and above the ears is commonly remains the same throughout one's lifetime. This discovery has laid the seeds of hair transplant surgery that the hair from the back of the scalp is replaced to bald zones to cover baldness, and, miraculously, it works. It works so well, that now if a person has hair transplant surgery, it is impossible to tell apart that the person ever had baldness.

However, back to the point that why are young candidates turned down by surgeons. This is because, despite the fact that an estimated 90%of men having baldness are going to have it in the center and front of the scalp, it is not taken for granted.

The hair that is genetically destined to loose, will shed sooner or later, and transplantation from one zone of the scalp to another will only expose the hair to shock loss. The baldness affected hair will take down with it the transplanted baldness resistant hair as well. So until the pattern of baldness is revealed, and is stabled, being the same for about 2years or so, surgeons don't deem it appropriate to splurge into surgery in a rush. It will only jeopardize the potential of donor hairs and the benefit if the surgery is opted at an appropriate time.

There are certain medications that slow down the baldness process. But nothing can stop or reverse it. One can try different hairstyles to camouflage the initial stages of baldness, or just accept the fact that baldness doesn't "hurt", and doesn't certainly make one unattractive.

Hair Transplantation is subcategorized into two procedures that differ by the methods the donor hair is extracted from the candidate's back of the scalp.

Follicular Unit Transplant or FUT procedure uses a thin strip of skin excised from the donor zone to extract the hairs stuck in it. The skin strip is about 2mm wide and is ideally taken from the center of the scalp, spanning from the back of one ear and across to the other. The skin strip is placed under a microscope and skilled surgeons can dissect 2-5hair follicular units within a short time creating individual grafts ready to be placed onto the bald zones. The strip excision has advanced largely, that leaves a pencil thin linear scar that may be hidden underneath top layers of hair but may be visible to short cropped hair, or if the patient has really thin hair. In exchange to the "scarring issue", the FUT procedure can yield the maximum number of grafts within one session of 6-7hours.

The FUE procedure is popular for a more "scar free" procedure. Though this procedure also leaves behind scars, but since they are hard to detect after 2-3 weeks after surgery, it is so called. The FUE procedure is uniquely designed that takes down individual follicular units consisting 2-5hairs as individual hair graft directly from the scalp, plucking them one by one. This is a medically challenging and strenuous procedure perfected by dedicated surgeons. Magnified vision and super fine instruments are used topped with a surgeon's manual attention and stress of plucking one hair graft at a time. This makes the procedure more expensive than the FUT hair transplant cost. And it might also require more than one session for more than 1,800 grafts.

Hair Transplantation cost is expensive and it all depends on the stretch of baldness resistant hair of your own scalp at the only hope covering up your baldness ever. So giving it the required time makes ample sense.
